Mounting a scope on your CZ 600 is a straightforward process, but there are a few key steps to ensure everything is properly aligned and secure.

Whether your rifle comes with a factory rail or you need to install one yourself, the process is all about selecting the right components and assembling them correctly. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Check if Your CZ 600 Has a Rail
Some CZ 600 models come with a factory-installed rail, while others do not. The rest of this step applies to you if your CZ 600 arrived without the rail.
If your rifle doesn’t have one, you’ll need to install a rail before mounting your scope. Alternatively, you can install scope rings even without picatinny rail, but just keep in mind that then those are dovetail scope rings for CZ 600. And they cannot be so easily demounted. We have such as well - you can find them here.
If you decide to go for a rail like vast majority of shooters, you need to keep in mind that there are 3 types of them, and if you choose the wrong one, it will not fit.

The type of rail you need depends on the size of your upper receiver, which is determined by your rifle’s caliber:
-
Short Receiver – For calibers .223 Rem and 7.62x39
- We have such listed here - CZ 600 Picatinny rail | Short
-
Medium Receiver – For calibers .308 Win., .243 Win., 6mm Creedmoor or 6.5mm Creedmoor
- We have such here - CZ 600 Picatinny rail | Medium with 0 MOA & CZ 600 Picatinny rail | Medium with 25 MOA
-
Long Receiver – For calibers .30-06 Springfield, .300 Win Mag, .270 Win. or 8x57 IS
- You can find such here - CZ 600 Picatinny rail | Long
I listed rails that we sell, but you can find anything else. And as long as the upper receiver size is correct for the rail, it will work fine for you. So, once you’ve determined the correct receiver size, choose a Picatinny rail that fits your rifle.
Step 2: Choose the Right Scope Rings
After securing the rail, you need scope rings that match two things:
- The rail type – Ensure your rings are compatible with either a Picatinny or Weaver rail, depending on which one you installed. If you bought Picatinny rail, you will be able to install both - Picatinny rings and Weaver rings. If you bought Weaver rail, you will only be able to install Weaver rings.
- The main tube diameter of your scope – Common diameters include 1 inch (25.4mm), 30mm, and 34mm. Check your scope specifications of your riflescope to get the correct size. You will be looking for the diameter of main tube.
- The height of the rings - that is the last thing to consider but important as well. It depends on the diameter of the objective bell.

If you want a more detailed guide on choosing the right rings, we wrote an article on the topic here: Quick guide: How to find the right height of scope rings.
Step 3: Mount the Scope
Now that you have the right rail and scope rings, it’s time to install the scope.
- Install the rail with required torque – Ideal to loctite the fixation screws as well.
- Secure the rings to the rail – Attach the bottom halves of the rings and lightly tighten them.
- Place the scope – Set your scope into the rings and adjust it for proper eye relief (typically, your sight picture should be clear when holding the rifle in a natural shooting position).
- Align the reticle – Rotate the scope until the crosshairs are perfectly level.
- Tighten the rings – Gradually tighten the ring screws, alternating sides to ensure even pressure. Use a torque wrench and follow the manufacturer’s recommended torque specs.
Step 4: Final Adjustments
- Check eye relief – Make sure you have a clear sight picture without needing to strain your neck.
- Level the scope – A bubble level can help ensure your crosshairs are perfectly horizontal.
- Test for stability – Give the scope a light shake to ensure everything is firmly secured.
And that is all
Once your scope is mounted, you’re ready to head to the range for zeroing. Proper installation ensures better accuracy and a more enjoyable shooting experience. Take your time, follow these steps carefully, and you’ll have a rock-solid scope setup on your CZ 600!
